On the basis of the Decree of the Kyrgyz Republic President, the State agency on vocational education under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic was created in February, 2007.

Now the system of vocational education numbers 111 educational institutions, including 93 professional lyceums, 10 professional schools, 7 professional schools under the Ministry of Justice, Tokmok industrial-pedagogical technical school.
Preparation in educational institutions is carried out on155 professions, which are in demand on the labour market. Annual contingent of trained population makes over 29 thousand people, graduated - about 17 thousand persons. Within the first year after graduation,over 70 % of graduates obtain job.
